About the Lyra Music Festival: The Lyra Music Festival is an outstanding series of summer classical music events based in Northampton, MA. Each July Lyra brings together world class musicians, talented young string players and pianists with an exceptional faculty of professional musicians and educators for concerts, masterclasses and outreach performances. The 2019 Lyra Music Festival celebrates Lyra Music’s 10th Anniversary bringing live classical music to concert halls and non-traditional venues. Lyra Music is supported in part by grants from the Amherst, Easthampton, South Hadley and Springfield Cultural Councils and the Northampton Arts Council, local agencies which are supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency; the Associated Chamber Music Players; and Dean’s Beans Organic Coffee.

FEI-FEI, Pianist http://feifeipiano.com, Winner of the Concert Artists Guild Competition, a top finalist at the 14th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, praised for her “passion, piquancy and tenderness.” (Dallas Morning News).

AYANO NINOMIYA, Violinist http://ayanoviolin.com, "Deeply communicative and engrossing," (The New York Times). Winner of the Naumburg International Violin Competition, the Tibor Varga International Competition, and the Astral Artists National Auditions. In recital with pianist Pei-Shan Lee.

ASTRID SCHWEEN, Cellist https://www.astridschween.com, Internationally recognized solo artist, chamber musician and music educator, cellist of the Juilliard String Quartet, featured in Strings and Strad magazines, on “Living the Classical Life”, NPR, The Violin Channel, CelloBello and as a guest speaker at the Library of Congress. In recital with pianist Victor Santiago Asuncion.
