About Lyra Music: Lyra Music Young Artist Performance Program is a 2-week intensive classical music program for pianists and string players, ages 13-18, in residence at the Storm King School in the Hudson Valley, NY, June 27th-July 11th, 2026. Advanced level musicians are immersed in a supportive, conservatory-style environment focusing on the study of solo and chamber music repertoire and sharing their performances with the surrounding community. Faculty members and staff live on-campus sharing housing facilities and eating meals with students in the on-campus dining hall.
We provide a small, intensive, yet nurturing music camp focused on achieving high standards of development through encouragement rather than competitiveness, and attention to the development on the whole individual along with music-making. We maintain an unusually low teacher to student ratio, and love the family-like, supportive atmosphere that results from a small student body. Students participate in private lessons and chamber music coachings on alternate days; masterclasses with guest artists; and experience multiple performance opportunities. We are excited to continue developing the Young Artist Program with integrity and heart. Along with high level musical training, Lyra offers daily recreational activities, evening social activities, and fun regional excursions.
