Lyra Music Retrospective: Alumni Highlights
While we aren’t able to share updates from all of our past participants, during the pandemic we were able to catch-up with some of our alumni to find out what they were doing, you’ll find a few of these “highlights” below. We hope that you enjoy this retrospective project celebrating some of the young musicians who are at the heart of the Lyra Music!
About the Lyra Music Young Artist Performance Program
The Lyra Music Young Artist Performance Program is a residential, conservatory-style classical summer music program. Originating in Vermont in 2010 and held in Western Massachusetts for the past several years, the Lyra Music summer program is now in residence in the Hudson Valley, NY each summer. Lyra students are young musicians, ages 13-18, immersed in a supportive, nurturing community where they live, work, and play with their peers and the dedicated Lyra faculty and staff. The Hudson Valley program is a performance-based program, providing a pre-professional touring experience for string players and pianists seeking an opportunity to hone solo and chamber performance and related skills. Young musicians will be inspired by the intensive study of solo and chamber music repertoire with Lyra Music Festival Guest Artists-in-Residence and a focus on performance technique in a variety of settings, including indoor and outdoor outreach concerts engaging with the community, a final gala student event, and invaluable opportunities to attend concerts produced by Lyra Music and performed by world-class guest artists. Lyra Music supports the musical, emotional and personal development of every participant through a nurturing, non-competitive environment where each student is encouraged to reach their full potential. Need-based financial aid is available.
At Lyra Music, we are grateful for the support of donors like you! Thank you for your gift that sustains our students and programs as we work together to enrich the cultural fabric of our communities through classical music training and performance.
